3rd Grade Units/Curriculum

Parents/Guardians: please use this link to see what your child is learning and what he/she will be learning each week.  The Year at a Glance (YAG) from CSCOPE is a great and easy way to see how we our planning and what we are touching on in each semester or 9 weeks for Math, Science, and Social Studies.  In Language Arts, refer to the skills/reading strategy/grammar skills learned in each lesson which is outlined for us in Journeys (this will be updated as the year progresses). 

Language Arts:

Reading Outlook - 9 weeks: reading groups and placement will be based off of TPRI results (the groupings will be aligned with the results throughout the year where we re-look at results of the BOY, MOY, EOY).  ALL 3rd graders will be touching on these skills/strategies/grammar skills

Writing Outlook:

Writing/Writing Process. Students use elements of the writing process (planning, drafting, revising, editing, and publishing) to compose text; Writing/Literary Texts. Students write literary text to express their ideas and feelings about real or imagined people, events, and ideas. Writing/Writing. Students write about their own experiences. Writing/Expository and Procedural Text. Students write expository and procedural or work related texts to communicate ideas and information to specific audiences for specific purposes (ELA - CSCOPE YAG)
